The company develops, manufactures, and markets a wide range of products, including juices and specialty food products such as pasta sauces, soups, and fondue broths and sauces under private labels and popular brands such as Antico and Canton.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-8221-0-0-1\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-last-child\" data-index=\"1\"><div class=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\">\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h3>Background<\/h3>\n<p>The team was looking forequipment for its plant in Saint-Damase in the Mont&eacute;r&eacute;gie region to cool its sauce jars once they were filled. The company&rsquo;s management selected a proposal from the plant team that would not only achieve this goal, but also recover the heat from its cold water system to preheat fresh water used for various processes and thus reduce its natural&nbsp;gas consumption.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-8221-1\" class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\"><div id=\"pgc-8221-1-0\" class=\"panel-grid-cell\"><div id=\"panel-8221-1-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"2\"><div class=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\">\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h3>Adopted solution<\/h3>\n<p>The proposal called for the installation of a high temperature heat pump with a capacity of 1.6&nbsp;MMBTU\/hr on the plant&rsquo;s chilled water system. With a 4,500-litre (1,000-gallon) thermal storage tank, the heat pump can heat water to 60&deg;C (140&deg;F). This is the kind of initiative we want to replicate at our other 16&nbsp;plants in North America [to strengthen the sustainability of our production chain\/to contribute to our sustainability targets].&rdquo;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-8221-3\" class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\"><div id=\"pgc-8221-3-0\" class=\"panel-grid-cell\"><div id=\"panel-8221-3-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"6\"><div class=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\">\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h3>&Eacute;nergir&rsquo;s role in the project<\/h3>\n<p>For this project, &Eacute;nergir analyzed and approved the customer&rsquo;s grant application under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energir.com\/en\/major-industries\/energy-efficiency-programs\/programs\/feasibility-study\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Study and Implementation component of its Energy Efficiency Program &ndash; Energy Audit and Implementation<\/a>. &Eacute;nergir&rsquo;s grant of $100,000 to the customer based on natural gas savings of 226,300 m<sup>3<\/sup> per year was added to a $482,000 grant from the Qu&eacute;bec government, which allowed the customer to reduce the ROI period to 3.1 years. <\/p>\n<p>In many cases, customers can also benefit from the assistance of an advisor from &Eacute;nergir&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energir.com\/en\/business\/customer-centre\/contact-us\/groupe-datech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DATECH team<\/a> to identify heat recovery or energy consumption optimization potential following a visit to the facilities.
